The Monsignor Edward Ryle Faith, Equity & Inclusion Event Series: Session V
Indigenous Peoples’ Day: Decoding the Doctrine of Discovery
This five part series is supported through the generosity of the Monsignor Edward Ryle Fund and is in honor of his legacy of advocating for justice, civil rights and human dignity for all people.
Session V is the closing session of the Monsignor Edward Ryle Faith, Equity & Inclusion series. This session provides an opportunity for people of faith to challenge the dominant narrative of “manifest destiny” and learn about the role of the Doctrine of Discovery upon the lives of indigenous people.
A Call to Action will encourage participants to mark Indigenous Peoples’ Day on the second Monday in October. Light refreshments will be provided.
